Progress Report #2 - Concept Art

Long time no devlog!
...Oops! We've all been very hard at work on TD! For this log I'm mostly going to share concept art images by our many talented team members and briefly explain them and how they fit into our development timeline so far!
Character Designs
As a game that seeks for cute, likeable characters, we had many many drafts of character designs for our 2 protagonists by many team members! The original design of the digital twin came from a pixel art sprite made by Nala at our first game jam event. The above image is my own sketched based on Nala's design of how we might expand the digital twin character in different styles.
An early concept sketch of the physical twin, 02, by Nala.
An early concept sketch of both twins by Jessica.
An early concept design for the digital twin by Eric.
Everyone had very good and very different design ideas, so the next step was picking and choosing elements from each design that we all liked to try and build up our final designs. The above was one of my early attempts at this, using the circuit boot pattern on the digital twin from my original sketch, the circuit eye markings and uniform/jumpsuit style outfits from Jessica's design, the power symbol from Eric's design, etc.
In a group call to finalize character designs, we discussed what elements of the various designs we all liked and what we wanted to see in the finals. This is a sketch I made during the call and sent to the chat to get opinions on it in the moment. Added more elements from other's designs, and emphasized them. Jessica had suggested the mirrored bangs on the twins from very early on but we had to balance it, in her original designs the characters looked too similar, and in my initial designs the characters didn't look similar enough. The idea to help fix this was the hair colours, and the swapped colour streaks. After these designs were made, I desperately begged my teammates to come up with outfit designs, as I struggle with that aspect of character design greatly.
I sketched a base to encourage everyone to submit designs, the above is Jessica's take on the outfits.
Sara's take on the outfit designs.
We decided to go with Jessica's design for the digital twin outfit, and Sara's for the physical twin outfit (pending future changed from our 3D character modeler, Lemon).
3D twin sketches from Lemon, as the only 3D character modeler the final details and style of the 3D twin would be decided by them for constructing in 3D.
Digital twin (20) turnaround by Nala.
Physical twin (02) turnaround by Lemon.

20's pixel walking sprites, by Sara.
Lemon's current work-in-progress(WIP) of 02.
Lore and Story
First opening cutscene storyboard by Nala. The order and detail of scenes has since changed, but the general idea is the same, the opening cutscene shows the backstory of the twins, 20 being created from 02's brain in an artificial womb, scientists studying the twins as they grow up, and the storm that happens right before the start of the gameplay.
First ending cutscene storyboard by myself. 02 escapes the lab with his sister's USB, she now as free access to all the joys of the internet, and they both get to live their lives with happiness and fulfilling careers in their seperate dimensions.
Start of gameplay storyboard by Sara.
Puzzles and Environment
An isometric 2D world puzzle aesthetic concept by Nala.
Early 3D environment concept art by Lemon.
A current 2D puzzle map design, 20 sprite from Sara and environment block sprites by Nala.
New USB design 3D model. The USB was redesigned to look more like 20 herself, with a circuit pattern and her cute cat ear like headphones. The 3D model here is made by Ramy, image is rendered by me.

An early 3D concept art of 02's bedroom in the lab, by myself.
Greybox of the new tutorial floor map, has been changed again since. By myself, featuring a WIP of Lemon's model for scale beside the desk on the left of the image.
UI Design
Oh boy, UI design for a game with a unique and unfamiliar mechanic! Many of the items we added to the UI asset list were decided and requested by our CS team as they worked on the build and through any bugs or confusing gameplay spots.
Sara made all the pixel art assets for UI elements, as well as many design and concept sketches, such as wireframes, etc. that I won't add here.
A compilation of our current UI elements. We had a couple different people working on UI assets, namely Sara and I from the art side, and various CS members who added UI elements into the unity build as needed with unity assets. I used Sara's pixel art style, dimensions, and shading, and with the assets she provided made a few colour adjustments to make the UI elements more consistent with one another.
